How many of you play computer games, and which ones.

My current faves are World of Warplanes and World of Warships. These are set in the WW2 era, and you play on the 'net against opponents from across the world - from the USA, to Europe, Russia, Australia and Asia. You have to be good to survive, and you have to be good to get the best planes and ships. With the ships, I like the German line - so I've got the battlecruisers Admiral Hipper and Graf Spee, and the battleships Scharnhorst and Tirpitz. I looked at Bismarck, but Tirpitz has torpedos as well as the big guns. With the aircraft, my fave is the Spitfire XIV, not as fast as the Me262, but much more manoeuvrable and with four cannon, it can shred the opposition with a few bursts (it eats the P51 Mustang for breakfast).

These are screen captures from the games - the graphics are pretty cool.

Now if I could just get him to dedicate himself to his school work to the same degree.....

He would, and so would I, if they can just make school work as interesting as some of these games. :D

Part of that would be solved in teaching real, unsanitized history. You know, the interesting stuff.

I'm willing to bet that his dedication to his games will eventually shift to the stuff in life that "matters." Mine did...of course, not until I was about 30. But it did regardless.

Having listen to him running his team (they use headsets) I'm beginning to think the kid is the next Patton.

He's good.

Man, I played over 2,000 hours of Skyrim between PS3 and PC. Now that I'm on PC, I can play it in 4K with over 80 mods, and it gave it all new life. I've been looking forward to Elder Scrolls VI for many years now. Watch the skies, traveller:)
